Note on Wife: Ollie Randolph AXTELL

b. Jan. 25, 1874 in McPherson, McPherson Co., Kansas, and was the first white

girl born in that county. When she was sixteen years old, her parents moved

to Arizona. On May 2, 1893 at Flagstaff, Arizona, she was married to William

H. Norman (b. Aug. 13, 1862 in Minn.). She was a remarkable woman. Her early

married life was devoted to her family and home all of which did not prevent

her from acquiring a college education in middle life. At the age of 49 she

received a two year certificate from the Northern Arizona State Teacher's

College, and in 1931 received B.A. Degree after teaching eight years. She

died Oct. 26, 1931 at Winona, Arizona. Owing to ill health of her husband,

she was the breadwinner of the family up till the time of her death. At

various times she lived in Kansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Texas and Arizona.
