I have 3 documents showing Homer's name as Homer Menzoe Axtell:

 

My grandmother left a family tree for her mother's side of the family (Staats). This document shows Homer's name as Homer Menzoe, born June 20, 1877, died Dec. 12, 1915, Lexington, Oklahoma, USA.

 

My grandmother's birth certificate, which I have, also shows his name as Homer Menzoe, same birthdate. Birthplace is Missouri. The certificate is signed by his wife, my great grandmother. She was Zetta Frances Staats (born 6/30/1883)

 

Homer and Zetta's marriage certificate (they married May 14, 1903 in Lawton, Oklahoma)

 

Four children:

 

Hannah Frances (my grandmother), 2/18/05

Ralph Waldo 11/16/07 (He resided in Bakersfield, California and Boulder City, Nevada)
